The Tweed valley has long been a destination for mountain bikers and the Forestry Commission has an extensive network of trails at both Glentress and Innerleithen. However, the sport has evolved and a significant network of have been developed by locals to provide a challenge to riders. These trails support the growing “enduro” mtb community and race scene. This is now thriving and the valley hosted the Enduro World Series in 2014 and 2015. The events were a huge success and created a festival of biking in the Tweed Valley.
The growth in popularity of enduro moutain biking means that the local off-piste trail network is seeing increased use. As these trails are generally not official FC trails, the maintenance of them tend to be done by the builders. The TVTA is a community group dedicated to the stewardship and development of the Tweed Valley mountain bike trail network.
We plan to use this website to keep all interested parties updated about the project.
